We run weekly dance classes for anyone interested in learning more about Scottish country dancing. Our dance classes are run by an experienced, qualified teacher. We hold monthly Friday social dances when we enjoy the highly social side of Scottish country dancing and put into practice what we have learned. The Friday socials feature live music and, at intermission, refreshments supplied by our members. We always host a Burns Night — a celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns. And once per year, we run a weekend-long Stoney Lake workshop that includes dances on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday morning. The Stoney Lake workshop also features internationally recognized teachers of Scottish country dancing. During the summer months we run our popular “Dancing on the Deck” — outdoor dances on Tuesday evenings on the patio behind the Silver Bean Café in Millennium Park, Peterborough. These special events are ideal ways to experience Scottish country dancing in a fun, casual environment. From time to time we also put on demonstrations of Scottish country dancing.
The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
