Sheffield Branch of the RSCDS would be delighted to welcome you to our friendly weekly dance classes. These are held on Monday evenings between September and July. Classes run from 7.30pm to 9.45pm, with a break for tea, chat and biscuits.

It is a general class for beginners, returners and improvers. The class is run by RSCDS qualified teachers. After a break intermediate dancers offer assistance, less experienced dancers the chance to dance in a wider social setting, and everyone to relax and have fun.

The classes are held at:
Bents Green Methodist Church Hall
Junction, Ringinglow Rd, Knowle Ln, Bents Green, Sheffield S11 7P
(There is a map on our website: www.rscds-sheffield.org).
Classes cost £4, but your first visit is free.

We run Social Dances on the first Saturday of many of the months of the season, usually with recorded music, but we have a live band for our Annual Ball in December and our President's Dance in June or July.

We run a very popular Day School annually on the last Saturday in October. We have live music during the day and at the evening social dance. Our guests also enjoy an excellent catered lunch and some of Sheffield's finest home-made cakes. Due to Covid, we shall NOT be holding our Day School in 2022. The situation will be kept under review.

We would welcome visitors to any of our events: www.rscds-sheffield.org

The branch also enters teams at the annual ASCDS Festival and the White Rose Festival.

On our 40th, 50th and 60th Anniversaries we produced a book of dances devised by our members: the First, Second and Third Sheaf Collections (named for the River Sheaf, after which Sheffield was named). The 2nd and 3rd collections are accompanied by their own CDs of music: www.rscds-sheffield.org

Nearest Groups

The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
