The Norwich branch of the RSCDS was formed in 1956 as a result of exiled Scots and local people in the Norwich area wishing to further their experience and learning of what had been, up to then, the occasional Scottish Country dance evening to celebrate St Andrews night and similar events.
Currently we have 30 full members, 8 Branch only members and new members are always welcome (singles or couples). Our Monday evening classes are held each week from September through to mid-June. These are held at the Oak Grove Chapel, 70 Catton Grove Road NR3 3NT. Classes are divided into Autumn and Spring terms of about 14 weeks each. See www.rscds-norwich.org.uk/rscdsclass.html for full details. There is ample parking available.
The branch has four experienced RSCDS-qualified instructors who cater for a wide range of abilities, from beginners to experienced dancers. In addition, we have a demonstration team available for displays and events in the region. We hold 5 social dances throughout the dancing year as well as a day workshop in November. See our Events page for more details.
If any new beginners are planning to join us please would they contact our Secretary Sue Petty on 01603 741639 or secretary@rscds-norwich.org.uk to let us know when they are coming. Why not come and give it a try! We are a very friendly group.

The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
