The Los Angeles Branch provides Scottish country dance classes and social events for Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara Counties in Southern California. There are seven weekly classes in Los Angeles County, i.e. in Beverly Hills, Lancaster, Redondo Beach, Reseda, Torrance, and Van Nuys; two in Ventura County, i.e. in Thousand Oaks and Ventura; and one in Santa Barbara County in Santa Barbara. (Schedules for these vary, so check our website and contact the individual teacher.) Throughout the year there are informal monthly dances, four in the Studio City district of Los Angeles, two in Torrance, and one in Thousand Oaks; three special joint events with other SoCal branches, an Interbranch Dance to open the new dance season in September, a Burns Supper and Ball near Robert Burns's birthday in January, and a dance during the Costa Mesa Games Weekend in May; and two special events of our own, a Saint Andrew's Ball in November and a Hogmanay Party on New Year's Eve, both in El Segundo. The Los Angeles Branch also has a demonstration team. For further information see our website or contact the branch secretary directly

Nearest Groups

The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
