Cheltenham offers a warm welcome to Scottish Country Dancers of all abilities. Our aim to have fun and teach the joy which is Scottish Country Dancing.

Classes
• Our beginner’s class will introduce new dancers to the steps and basic formations and is also suitable for dancers who feel they require a refresher course.
• The club night or general class is suitable for all post-beginner dancers, here we learn dances both old and new as well as techniques which improve confidence and enjoyment of Scottish Dancing.
• For more advanced dancers there is also the possibility of joining the Dem Class teaching dances for demonstrations or the Advanced Class.

Dances and Day Schools
We hold a series of monthly Social Dances which are informal and suitable for all.
Our more formal Annual Ball in January is held in the regency splendour of Cheltenham’s Pittville Pump Room or the Town Hall.
The Day School held in April offers us the chance to invite a guest teacher and musician to join us.

We hope to see you at one of our events or if you can, join one of our classes.
All you need is some soft shoes and a smile!

Nearest Groups

The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
