We meet every Thursday from mid September onward at 8.15 pm at St George’s Hall in the centre of Poynton, Cheshire. On Thursday evening it’s ‘Class Night’ where we learn new dances and dance some of our favourites. We have Christmas and Summer parties with recorded music and a Spring Party and annual Dance (in November) with live music.
All abilities receive a warm welcome and you don’t need to bring a partner. If you’d like to come along and have a go then contact Max Dobbyn (secretary) on 01625 874246 or via email at max.dobbyn@gmail.com for more information. If you’d like to have a look at what Scottish Dancing is like first, then you can go on-line and search for Scottish Country Dancing – there are lots of clips on YouTube - or you can just come along on a Thursday and have a look at us!
The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
