For several years, members of clubs in the Hunter Valley Branch attended the Highland Gathering at Tamworth. We would meet with friends from Queensland and to reduce costs, would bed down children in the rooms of those who came without. There was much chasing from one room to another with sashes and items of clothing as we made our preparations. It was a lot of fun, and with a handshake at the end, came the greeting “See you next year”.
