this book was published in '78-'79 I was one of the first to get a copy as a prize for winning the first junior fiddle competition in Kirriemuir in 1979 and presented to me by James Hunter, 9 years prior to your claimed publication date… mine is a hard back…

I did check with the ‘look inside’ version at amazon. With the information found in there, I have changed the publication data to 1979, because that was the year James Hunter released the original 1st version. I have added to the additional information that there was a corrected version published in 1988 after editing by Alasdair and William Hardy (thus, the date in the database was not entirely wrong ;).
Since I am neither a musician nor in possession of both editions of the book, I cannot check the differences between them. From what was written in the preface, there was no change to the number and set of tunes published. However, some arrangements and accompanying information might have been changed. However, since only the tunes contained are part of the SCDDB entry, it felt safe to set the publication date to that of the original 1st edition.
Any objections?
A check of the content of the entry against the original version would still be highly welcome and appreciated. @Gregor: would you be willing to help here? ;-)
