Description

In publication 488 "The Fiddle Music of Scotland two tunes both have number 230: Gillan’s Reel Gillian’s Reel It is probable that one is a typo for the other - perhaps not an SCDDB typo, but one in one of our sources.

If it is a double entry, merge and make a “spelling alias”.

I have the book in front of me and the tune is definitely called »Gillan’s Reel« (no extra »i«). As far as I’m concerned the two ought to be merged.

The Tune Finder has entries for both “Gillan’s” and “Gillian’s”; the abc codes were identical. So obviously other sources have the typo too. Both gave composer P. Milne.

Entries merged into “Gillan’s Reel”. “Gillian’s Reel” added as spelling alias.

Issue fixed. Eric
