Dance Sharing Ice Creams With Angels 21938

This dance is dedicated to my friend Alan Ross. I first met him in August 2015: he was the class musician at my first Summer school. During the break, he used to play some old French songs for us while we “tried” to waltz with another French dancer (this amused him a lot because we were clowning around). It’s one of great memories I keep in mind! I’ll miss him very much but I’ll always remember what a great man and musician he was, and how lucky I was to have known him.
The title of the dance refers to the “game” he played of posting photos on Facebook of the best ice creams. I’m sure he eats good ice creams with angels now.

1–2.- All three couples set to partner. In strathspey time, use the Glasgow Highlanders setting step (left foot) ; In reel time, use the pas de basque & coupé (left foot).
3–8.- All three couples dance la baratte (all three couples are now on opposite side).
9–12.- 1st couple dance down (2 bars) and change side with nearer hands joined (2 bars) (1W dancing under 1M arm) (2nd couple dance up on the sidelines on 9–10).
13–20.- 2nd & 1st couples dance a Men’s Chain (up and down the set), finishing on the sidelines (2x, 1, 3x).
21–24.- While 1st couple, giving both hands, turn once round, 2nd & 3rd couples, giving both hands, turn one and a half (all three couples finishing on own side, in order 2, 1, 3). In reel time, use skip change of step.
25–32.- All three couples dance 6 hands round and back.
Start again from new position (the second time in reel time).
