The late George Valentine Bateson (1934–2022) and his three brothers plus others including George’s wife Alison founded the Berkhamsted Strathspey and Reel Club in 1952. This dance was first danced in Alison’s garden in Aldbury in 2024.

When dancing this in a garden, if ground damp then to minimise slipping adopt this variation:

Bars 13–16 1C set to 2nd corner and finish in 2nd place opposite side.
Bars 17–20 As before.
