Description

The description from MiniCribs include a remark “Round the Room 2 facing 2”. And the description from Eric Ferguson’s SCD Cribs doesn’t contain such a detail. Anyway, this dance is very difficult to be done in “2 facing 2” set shape - maybe there is a mistake in MiniCribs description?

Disposition changed to »Fixed« (previously »New«)

This dance was originally published in 1996 the New Scotland 50th Anniversary book of dances.

Bars 29-32 modified 1999 to stop the men overextending their arms in the arches. In a private message to me, the devisers wrote:

The original version has the men in the centre on 29-32 instead of the ladies. This means that they are trying to move out while making arches, which means the circle has to expand, and something has to give, which makes it difficult. With the ladies in the centre, the men are moving in, and the arches are shrinking instead.

“Eric’s crib” has been rewritten to make the starting circle and the figures unambiguous. I have removed the link to the original description to avoid perpetuating the obsolete text.

Fixed. Eric
