Description

Dear Anselm,

I have seen that you have added a 4-couple Bourrel as Formation some time in the past, even though there was a single dance having it.

Now there is a second dance having a Bourrel that involves 4 couples, but different:

  • while “Mr. Gallamore’s Strathspey” has 4 ‘couples’ turning besides each other while two dancers chase around the set,
  • “The Mentors” has a variant of a Bourrel performed by 4 couples in a square.

I suggest to use this Formation, for the time being, as a collection of Bourrels involving 4 couples? If this (ever) grows over a certain size, we can still split it.

For the time being, I have renamed that Formation to “Bourrels - 4 couple” to indicate that it includes not only one type.

I hope to get your consent, posthumously ;)

Cheers, Heiko

I agree with this suggestion.

Are you all aware that it is possible to add “Extra Info” a formation? Edit the formation (via "Edit Gatabase / formations / Change / (search and open) and fill in the field. You can also just add the text 'admin/acedd/'in the URL, and open the page.

I have just added Heiko’s comments to this formation.

Such comments will be helpful for editors when they want to know what the formation means exactly. These comments will also be useful when we prepare the new formation system.

There is just one problem: there is no “Extra Info” tab, so you need to open the formation for editing to see the comment.

Anselm, could you please add an “Extra Info” tab that displays when an editor opens the page of a formation?

It might also be useful for non-editors to be able to see such comments on the non-privileged page for each formation, eg when wanting to submit detailed information about dances.
