Issue 1305: Almost empty Minicrib

Description

The Minicrib for this dance is almost empty, just containing “[Ddraig Goch]”.

Looking at the latest PDF downloaded from the Minicrib website it has both a good crib entry under the title “Ddraig Goch” and the above entry under the title “The Red Dragon”.

I presume the strathspey import of the Minicribs is overwriting the good crib (which is alphabetically earlier) with the Minicrib alias entry.

Searching the Minicrib PDF for square brackets does not find any other examples of that style of indicating an alias, so I guess its a special case. I think Ive read that the Minicrib import has some handling for special cases so perhaps this one could be added too?

NB I see the videos both give the title as “Y Ddraig Goch”, ie adding the Welsh definite article, though the E-crib, Minicrib and Keith Rose diagram all agree it on omitting it. I do not have the original book but presume the crib/diagram authors do.

Useful Note: On SCDDB each dance and all its cribs use the single dance name standardized for SCDDB. The distribution copies of Minicrib use their own dance names, which may be different, and which do not appear anywhere on SCDDB. Diagrams can include a dance name as part of the diagram. If a dance has several names, or if different spellings are used, these should appear as “Aliases”.

In the Ness House Collection vol 2, the title of the dance is “DDRAIG GOCH”. A comment beneath the instructions has: “Y Ddraig Goch” (The Red Dragon) can be seen all over Wales, particularly after closing time. It is well known for chasing it’s own tail up and down and round and round (rather like the dance). Unfortunately the horizontal rain prevalent in these parts has a habit of putting the flames out.

Disposition changed to »Fixed« (previously »New«)

This appears to be fixed in more recent Minicrib imports.
