Bars 1 - 8 1st couple cast off behind their own lines for 4 steps, 1st couple turn inwards and dance back to places
Bars 9 - 12 1st couple cross giving right hand and cast off one place (2nd couple step up on bars 11 - 12)
Bars 13 - 16 1M dances RH across with 2nd couple WHILST 1L dances RH across with 3rd couple
Bars 17 - 20 1st couple, giving left hand, cross down between 3rd couple and cast up behind 3rd couple into 2nd place on own sides
Bars 21 - 24 1M dances LH across with 2nd couple WHILST 1L dances LH across with 3rd couple. (1st couple finish in 2nd place on own sides)
Bars 25 - 32 2nd and 1st couples dance Rights and Lefts
Extra note from the deviser: ‘The Iris flower, in full bloom, reminds me of a hand and so I named this dance after the Iris, because of the continuous use of hands. The first 8 bars represent the lower petals, or “falls”, of the Iris.’
