Issue 1427: Minicrib import problem? Crib added to the wrong dance

Description

There are two dances in SCDDB called The Chain Walk, one by Roy Goldring and one by Ken Martlew. It looks as though the Minicrib for the Goldring dance (3/3L strathspey) has also been imported for the Martlew dance (4/4L reel).

The latest Minicrib looks OK and only has a crib for the Goldring dance. So I suspect this is a problem in the Minicrib importer script.

Looking at the history of the Martlew dance it seems that Eric deleted a crib from the Martlew dance in 2016, so perhaps this import problem has arisen before? If so I wonder if it affects other sets of dances with identical names?

What probably happened here is that way back when I noticed that the MiniCrib database contained a crib for a dance it called “The Walk” that was really for the Goldring dance, “The Chain Walk”. It is likely that the crib for the Martlew dance wasn’t there at the time, nor was there a crib for the Goldring dance under its correct title. What I did at the time is to add a manual exception that links “The Walk” to the database entry for “The Chain Walk” (of which there was only one at the time in the database so no ambiguity).

In the meantime (in 2016, according to the Django editing history), the Martlew dance was added to the database, and apparently our good friends at MiniCribs independently added a proper crib for “The Chain Walk” without getting rid of the spurious one for “The Walk” (which is probably forgivable given that it is at the other end of the file). The MiniCribs importer now matches the crib called “The Chain Walk” to the Goldring dance (on the strength of the specified deviser) while “The Walk” is still manually mapped to a dance called “The Chain Walk”, and without the benefit of deviser information (which wasn’t necessary way back when) this happens to get matched to the Martlew dance.

I have now removed the manual override for “The Walk” as well as the spurious crib attached to that dance, and re-imported the current set of MiniCribs. Our good friends at MiniCribs may still on general principles want to get rid of the crib for “The Walk” (which is currently – quite correctly – not assigned to any dance in SCDDB), which is why I’m Cc:ing this issue action to them.
