Description

Hi all:

May we request correcting Evelyn’s name. The entry says “Evelyn Murray-Lenthall”, but she prefers to go with “Evelyn M E Murray” these days. The database has already an entry for that name. It actually refers to the same person.

Her name in the notes in the dance diagrams “The Scottish Fiddler o’ Crieff” and “Vale of Atholl” will need to be corrected.

Separately, for the dance “Rose And The Saltire”, the published version actually has the title “The Rose And The Saltire”.

Evelyn can be contacted via email address athollbrose@verizon.net in case you need further clarifications.

Thanks very much again for your assistance.

Charles

Hello Charles,

The database policy is that if someone published dances under one name but then changed her name we keep the old name attached to the earlier publications. Otherwise its a bit confusing for someone who has the publication but sees a different name in the database to the one in the publication itself.

What is supposed to happen when someone changes their name is that they get a new person entry (this happened) and that the new name is linked to the old name. This did not happen but I have just made the link.

For the moment I have left the dances assigned to her old name on the assumption that was correct at the time they were published. If any were published after she changed her name please let us know.

I also changed the name of The Rose and the Saltire. Cheers, Murrough.
