Okay, I might be a bit picky here, but don’t want to add a tune to the database where neither tune nor recording seem to be related to any SCD dance type/style… I just made a note about the tune. Hope that’s fine for all other editors too.

We usually add tunes that are mentioned on CDs even if they’re not SCD tunes in the strict sense. Many dance sets include music from Gilbert & Sullivan operettas, classical tunes (e.g., the Marian Anderson set for Ramadan-ce features adaptations of Schubert’s Moments Musicaux and Mozart’s Rondo alla turca), or generally popular music or music from other (non-Scottish) traditions. It makes some sense to add these because people may want to search specifically for “that recording with the Radetzky march”. Even with tunes that aren’t tied to dances this could help people find recordings for warmups etc., so I think while we’re at it, let’s add everything on an album because in the long run that is less hassle than having to come back to it later.

I think I have that CD somewhere here in a pile from Meinhard. I’ll have to fish it out and check what it is like …

Thanks for the feedback, Anselm. I changed it for THIS entry, yet I have to go through all other issues of the same thing were I went down the “easy way”. Will do so in due time!
