I honestly don’t know what to do with such information. We have a recording submitted, that talks about a “vague” dance no one remembers, which is not in the database. Shall I honestly create an entry for it or rather do nothing?

That dance is apparently actually a thing (I have a description, sadly uncredited, in Scottish Ceilidh Dances by David and May Ewart, although I’ve never seen it danced, much less used it myself), so we could make an entry for it. We have five different recordings so it would make sense from that POV, too.

Okay, thanks for this input. I created a basic entry for the dance, a Waltz 32, and associated it with the recording. I haven’t associated other recordings of the same name to the dance, shall I?

If you could do so then that would of course be splendid. Thank you!

Hello Viktor,

The only other recording I own for this is the Bobby Brown one (recording number 4442), which I just listened to for the first and last time (sorry, a Scottish dance band, no matter how good, does not do justice to Lehar’s Merry Widow Waltz).

I’d say this one should be linked to the newly added dance. My best guess is any W32 recording named Viennese Swing should be linked, so that’s numbers 3338, 10553, and 6036 as well.

Cheers,

Mark.

Added the dance to all recordings of that name and added the video link to the “notes” section as I can’t embed it to the video section to my knowledge.
