The song is officially credited to Bayes and Norworth, but during the early 20th century (the song was written in 1908) songs were often sold outright, and the purchase then got the writing title. It’s more likely that this song was either written by Edward Madden and Gus Edwards or Dave Stamper (the later was employed as a pianist by Bayes and Norworth at the time).
