Issue 2412: The Moray Rant

Object
The Moray Rant (Dance)
Submitter
Ian Russell (Pysifr)
Assigned to
Murrough Landon
Priority
Normal
Disposition
Ignored
Description

Drummond Cook (Tae Gar Ye Loup) has the Moray Rant as track 2 second side (so track 7). This is listed in the quick search as “an approximate match”. But this track is not listed under “recordings” - possibly because it is played as 4 X 48!

Hello. The database has tables of dances and tables of recordings. Recordings can have a list of dances for which they are suitable. A recording will then appear in the list of recordings for a dance if the dance is linked in that recording. Its an action by an editor, not done through searching by name.

In this case, as you suggest, the editor entering the information may well have decided that 4x48 recording was not actually suitable for The Moray Rant. That seems quite a reasonable decision actually (though I expect there are counter examples in other dances). So I propose not to change it and mark the issue as “Ignored” due to not taking any action.

Though if you feel it should be linked despite being the wrong number of repeats just reply to the mail from this issue (you can click a link at the bottom to update the issue).
