Issue 2438: Tunes in this set
- Object
- A Reel for Jeannie (Recording)

- Assigned to
- Murrough Landon
- Priority
- Normal
- Disposition
- Being handled
- Description
-
I have listened to this track and I believe that the third tune is Bill Sutherland by Adam Rennie (not the same composer’s “Pat Donald” as listed) and the fourth one is a repeat of Angus Grant’s Reel. The mysterious Reverend Peter Davidson is conspicuous by his absence. Adam Rennie did compose a tune called the Reverend Peter Fenton but it is not included in this set.
The original editions of Adam Rennie’s tunes have been out of print for decades but the “folk tune finder” amongst other sources identifies the third tune as Bill Sutherland.

Thanks. I have made the changes you suggested.
It would be good to know if the notes for the Book 40 CD had the previous (wrong) SCDDB listing of tunes for this recording or if they were entered incorrectly in the database.
