Please add: This dance was devised by Mary Isdale MacNab circa 1950 and gifted to Mrs Tihi West for her daughter Wendy West by Mrs MacNab, believed on a visit to St Andrews Summer School.: This ladies’ solo six step dance is dance no. 20 and is fully described by RSCDS in The St Andrews Collection of Step Dances, Volume 1 The Dance Descriptions, Revised 2013. The Maid of Islay was revised in 1976 by Mrs Tihi West, for teaching. Bars are 8+8+8+8+32+16=80 Music: In Praise of Isla and The Island Spinning Song Note this is the only dance from Mrs MacNab as being devised by her all others associated with her were collected.
