Description

I have a pilling edition with metal spiral bound back which is the 2nd edition with publication date 1958. (under the preface: July 1958) It has 2 pages of symbols and 48 pages (have not counted the number) of dance diagrams. And I have a Pilling supplement which must be imo the supplement to the second editon (price 2/6d) with 8 pages of diagrams / not counted the number of dances. F.i. with Admiral Nelson which it not in the 2nd ed. but but is in the 3th ed.

I have a third ed.with date 1969 (93 page with diagrams) And in a 4th ed. there are mentioned as previous edition: 1… 1955, 2…1958, 3…1969, 3 (revised) 1970, 4… 1974, 4 reprinted 1977, 4… reprinted 1978

in my 5th ed. it says irst published 1955 fifth edition 1980 Reprinted 1981 in my 6th ed. soft cover :1992 in my 6th ed. hardover: 1st…1955 5th…1980, 6th …1992 and 6th revised 1994

It might be - sometime - possible to make lists of the dance names of the early ed.

NB in sccdb
the 6th and 7th ed. give the extra info the sentence the very first P …1955. the 4th and 5th ed. do not have that sentence under extra info

Thanks. I believe the idea of adding older Pillings publications was discussed before and no one has yet had the enthusiasm to do that. It takes some time to link all the dances, but as you have given publication dates I have added basic publication entries and updated 4 & 5.

If at some point you make a list of the dances in each of the older editions do send it. Even if we only add a text list to extra info someone keen of past history could find it.
