The dance Fire in the eastern hills: Recalls the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires in the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. The White Lady: The White Lady haunts the Court Cave, at MacDuff Castle, Wemyss, Fife. The Sea Caves: There are many caves in the coastal cliffs at Wemyss. “Wemyss” is apparently gaelic for caves. The cold iron bridge: I envisage an exchange of spys at a border post so ewhere in the forests of eastern Europe. Why, I have no idea! Cockle Mill: Cockle Mill milled grain, and later iron, near the mouth of the River Almond, Cramond. Now only a ruin.
