TAKE CARE . As you may see some dancedescription links as well around there. … I came across the following DanceDatafriends message of 3-3-2020 23.28h:

Hello Iain, Actually we have exchanged a few emails with Moira Turner directly. She has so far published dances on her club website but is preparing to move them (into book form) with a few updates. As you noticed she has recently issued one volume of a proposed series.

So the existing links will break in future but it seems she is keen for them to be publicly available in the new format but exactly how and where is not decided.

I agree she probably didnt expect the links to be moved to the web archive but from what I gather from her emails she does not intend to make the full instructions inaccessible. Its a matter of timing a transition. Cheers, Murrough.

Greetings all, This reply is directed primarily to the hard working editors of the database! Surely, when Moira Turner’s original issue asks -

“Please remove the online source entry” (from the entries for dances devised by members of the Richmond (USA) group)

this means remove the entry entirely so that there is no longer an online source for these dances! To me, her request does not mean -

delete the existing online source and replace it with another online source pointing to an archive link! It is quite clear, to me, that Moira no longer wishes dancers and teachers accessing the instructions from the Richmond website via our online database - especially since she has recently published a new collection containing many of the listed dances!

Regards,

Iain Boyd (…)

Thanks, but that strathspey mail was about Moira Turner, not Moira Stacey. Once Moira Turner had created her book she made the PDF available online and the links were changed to point to that.

Meanwhile I started adding skeletal entries for the dances in Moira Stacey’s Footnotes 3 (done) and Footnotes 4 (started).

Thanks. I have added the missing dances (with minimal information) and linked them to the publications.
