Description

It is not clear how the half-promenade should end in this dance E-cribs has: half 3c Promenade to finish 1c in the middle facing up, 2c & 3c on sides (1,2,3)

Mini-cribs has: & Promenade to original positions

The video at least the one I think is the best (Martina Mueller-Franz) has;
half 3c Promenade to finish 1c & 2C in the middle facing up, 3c on sides (1,2,3)

Can the right instructions be verified from the original source please. We have this on a dance program in earl October and it would be great if we could ensure our dancers have a consistent understanding.

I have also been taught the last 8 bars as turn and cast rather than cast & turn but I think that was a simple error on the teachers part. Nevertheless it would be good if this were included in the check.

Many thanks

The instructions I have say for bars 21-24:
“1st couple, followed by 2nd and 3rd couples, dance half promenade to original places, 1st couple finishing side by side in the middle of the set facing up.”

So I think MiniCrib have just abbreviated that last note. Of course these cribs are intended as reminders and its always best to consult the originals.

From the instructions I would assume 2nd couple should finish the promenade on the sides before dancing up on 25-26. Both e-crib and diagram show this.

Indeed the last 8 bars are 1st couple cast (as 2nd dance up), then they turn both hands, cast off again (3rd step up) and turn BH again.

I slightly tweaked the e-crib to read “half 3C promenade” instead of “half 3c promenade”. Erics convention normally uses uppercase “3C” for three couple figures and lowercase “3c” for 3rd couple.
