Groundhog Day Kargapoltsev Diagram Korobeynikov SCDDB 14989 20211009

Thank you very much for your contribution to SCDDB.

a) Crib Diagram comment button error “page not found”

b) PDF PNG and SVG files of Korobeynikov’s diagram error “Not supported by viewer” screen shows rubbish. Only on my computer?

Kindest regards

Peter Meier Zurich tpsm051029@yahoo.de

Hi Peter, thanks for your submission. The “Comment” buttons should work for some time now, no problems on my end. The SVG file shows okay here, yet the PDF and PNG file don’t, as you say. Will pass this issue on to Anton. @Anton: could you please upload a new SVG version? There might have been an inconsistency.

Unfortunately, the SVG => PDF/PNG converter we’re having on SCDDB can only handle very basic SVGs, not the ones modern web browsers / rendering engines do support. Basically, many things around font rendering are not supported besides other things.

The diagrams were created using https://asl.github.io/scd-diagrammer/ (which is essentially draw.io engine tuned to SCD diagrams) that generates quite advanced SVGs and it unexpectedly turned out that the SCDDB converter cannot handle them.

This is a known issue, however, there is no viable solution as of now – we cannot easily fix things at any of the end (draw.io engine and SCDDB).

The diagram now seems to be in the database. (I fixed the usual scalability problem by hand in the SVG element.) Closing this issue (and issue 2630) as “fixed”.

Oops, my bad – the PDF version of the diagram still looks terrible. I’m keeping this issue open (2630 is basically a duplicate). Sorry for the confusion.
