Issue 2651: Possibly incorrect formation

Object
London Bridge (Dance)
Submitter
Iain Boyd
Assigned to
Chris Ronald
Priority
Normal
Disposition
Accepted
Description

The first formation should probably be ‘Reel of three - dancing couple plus one (REEL;DC+;R3;)’ as in “The Back O’ Bennachie” (which the dance strongly resembles) rather than ‘Reel of three - across (REEL;ACROSS;R3;)’.

This explains why “The Back O’ Bennachie” is not included in the search results for 2C dances with ‘Reel of three - across’.

I have not checked the other dances from this search but I suspect that many, if not all, of the reels have been incorrectly defined.

Regards,

Iain

Thanks Iain. Given the limitations of the present formation system I think what you suggest makes sense. At least following a precedent of another dance with similarities.

I see Chris added this dance himself, though I may have added the formations on seeing the crib. Anyway I thought I would assign this issue to Chris for comment.
