Issue 3059: Duplicate Dances

Object
Brian Pierson (Person)
Submitter
Iain Boyd
Assigned to
Murrough Landon
Priority
Normal
Disposition
Fixed
Description

The dances “Dance For Bar” and “A Strathspey For Bar” ‘appear’ to be the same dance - at least, I am pretty sure that they are the same dance!

Different information is included in the Extra Info; slightly different cribs are included for the two dances (an E-Crib in “Dance For Bar” and an E-Crib plus a MiniCrib in “A Strathspey for Bar”) and the SAME video is associated with both dances!

The video is the same video as the same mistake occurs on bar 17 of the first figure!

These two entries need to be checked and (probably) combined.

Bar(bara) was the wife of Ken Martlew of the Berkhamsted Strathspey and Reel Club. These two dances were probably written just after Bar passed away. I suggest that we ask Ken to help us resolve this issue.

I found in my email that I had asked Brian about this in 2019 and said I would merge the two entries. I probably did the merging of information but not the final step of deleting the “Dance for Bar” entry. “A Strathspey for Bar” is the preferred title. I added the other as an alias.
