In the diagram for Mist o’er the Loch, on bars 24-28, the positions of 2L and 3M (non-moving corners) appears to be reversed. Could you help verify? Thanks.

Having gone though the diagram carefully, I agree with Charles, in the left-most figure of the 2nd row, 2nd lady and 3rd man (i.e. the 2 and 3 without square or circle) need to be exchanged. They are correct 4 bars later without having moved ;)

Keith, do you agree?

Cheers, Heiko

Small addition: in the last bars of the diagram 1c seem to finish on opposite side. All the cribs say they cross Rsh to own side.

General: We are taught that “corners pass and turn” should not be “Loopy” but danced straight with sharp turns at the ends and in passing Rsh in the middle.

Could the diagram show these details please?

@Eric: I think you’re confusing »corners pass and turn« with »dance to each corner and set«. In CP&T, nobody passes right-shoulder in the middle with a sharp turn.

I think diagrams are allowed to presuppose basic common sense on the part of the reader. Extending the arrows for 1st couple’s track on bars 29-32 to second place on own sides would make the diagram quite messy, and personally I’m happy with the way they are because I know that there are no dances where 1st couple finishes on opposite sides at the end. Consider that the diagrams are supposed to be reminders, not encyclopedic dance instructions. I think we have more important issues to deal with.

Diagram revised to incorporate all suggestions.

My original instructions for bars 25-28 state: “1st couple dance round first corner position and pass each other by the right…” No mention is made of sharp turns, the use the word “round” could be better interpreted as loopy.
