Henry Mancini was an American composer, conductor, arranger and musician. He is best remembered for his film and television scores. He won 4 Academy Awards, a Golden Globe, and 20 Grammy Awards. In addition he was awarded a posthumous Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1995.

Among his best known works are “The Pink Panther Theme” (the theme to “The Pink Panther” film series"), “Moon River” (to the movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”) and the theme for the Peter Gunn television series.

Also posthumously in April 2004, he was honored by the US Postal Service presenting a stamp commemorating his lifetime achievements in film music, and to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film The Pink Panther.
