Publication Formation Foundations 1772

This book with its accompanying music recording is a collection of dances that can be used to introduce a formation to a class. The dances are devised so that the chosen formation is the only unfamiliar movement in the dance; the dancers would already be familiar with the other movements. These dances have been used by my wife Sue and myself in the classes we have taught.

Since the collection is designed as an aid to teaching formations, we have included on each facing page some notes that may assist in teaching the formation. The notes draw on our experience of training all levels of dancers including candidates for the RSCDS examinations and, recently, under the Core Training for Instructors (CTI) scheme.
