Founded in the 1960s by David Morton and Franziska Völker, the Frankfurt Scottish Country Dance Club e.V. is among the oldest SCD groups in Germany. We have members of all ages, new to very experienced, and we welcome visitors and people who want to give SCD a try!
Our weekly classes take place on Tuesdays (except during school holidays) from 7pm to 10pm in a conveniently-located school gymnasium right in the middle of Frankfurt. Please refer to our web site for directions.
Besides the weekly class, our group puts on an annual Spring Ball (usually in late March or early April) and a number of other events such as the annual Tea Dance (usually in January) and half-day workshops for advanced dancers or teachers. Information on all of these appears on our web site.
The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
