Welcome to the RSCDS Oban & Lorn Branch. Our classes and most of our events are held in the Church of Scotland Centre, Oban, Argyll. The Branch was formed in 1956 and having celebrated our 60th birthday we continue to flourish.
The branch runs a General Class on Monday evenings from September to March and have an Annual Dance in November with a Christmas party on our last night in December. There are Advanced Classes for the more experienced dancer, once a month from October to February.

During the summer months May to August we hold Summer dances, which welcome SCD dancers and very often tourists, who wish to try SCD for the first time.

Annual Weekend School is held in March each year in the Corran Halls in Oban. 2021 will see our 60th weekend. This event attracts dancers from all over the world as well as the U.K. The weekend comprises a Social Dance with a supper on the Friday night, classes on the Saturday morning with a visiting teacher and pianist and on Saturday evening there is a 2 course Buffet meal and dance. Each night welcomes a different Scottish Country Dance Band.

Details of all these are on our website www.rscdsoban.com or contact Sue Porter sue.porter3@btopenworld.com

Nearest Groups

The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
