Lugnasad was formed in 2003 in Kyiv, running Irish dance classes at first. Since 2005 we have also been providing Scottish Country Dance classes, as well as master classes and dancing weekends (starting from 2006, we have hosted 4 international DWEs), and have participated in numerous festivals in Ukraine and abroad.

Experienced SCD dancers have been members of the RSCDS (International Branch) for many years and our SCD teacher is fully-certificated by the Society (St Andrews, 2014).

Lugnasad is an affiliated group of RSCDS - the first and so far the only in Ukraine.
