Welcome to Furness Scottish Country Dance Group, an Affiliate Group, which has been promoting Scottish Country Dancing in the Furness Peninsula for over sixty years. We run a weekly class, under the guidance of our RSCDS qualified teacher, Eve, from September until April each year. Eve is determined to improve our dancing but above all else, she ensures that, as our logo implies, fun and friendliness underpin everything we do. We currently have a membership of 60. New members, of all abilities are welcome and, even if you are just visiting the Lake District and have a Monday evening free, come along and be our guest. You won’t regret it.
The Class is held in Newton Village Hall, 34 Newton Cross Road, Newton, Barrow in Furness Cumbria, LA13 0NB.
The distances in this list are geodesic distances (“as the crow flies”) between places with dance groups, rather than road distances between dance venues. Also note that while there may be several dance groups in the same town or city, their dance venues may be distant from one another even though they are all lumped together under one marker on the map.
