This dance has been devised by Liz Bruynooghe for three Societies in Cheshire - Northwich Scots’ Society, Nantwich and District Scottish Society and RSCDS Cheshire Branch - who have come together to organise a Ball. Our first combined Ball will be held on Sat 30 March 2019 and this dance will feature on it.
The ‘Wyches’ refer to three Cheshire Market Towns - Northwich, Nantwich and Middlewich. These towns are also famous for salt - there are salt mines in Cheshire! (Sadly it is not refined salt, such as Aigues Mortes. Cheshire salt is used for spreading on the roads in winter.)
