Bars 9–16 were inspired by Anna Holden’s Strathspey – RSCDS Book 42.
The dance was written for the first Moscow branch weekend school in 2008 – Irene Bennett was the other teacher, with Ken Martlew and Barbara Manning as the musicians.
I wanted to teach a dance that included the Tourbillon, a formation that I really like, and this was the result.
Pat Clark composed a tune for the dance, titled “September in Moscow”.
