Via e-mail, From: Benjamin Stein, Burlington, Vermont USA, Dancers@Compuserve.Com, on 13 Oct 1997: This dance, though modern in form, uses all traditional figures, reflecting the long tradition of Traquair House, located in the Borders between Innerleithen and Peebles. It is the legendary home of the Stewarts of Traquair, contains the oldest house in continuous habitation in Scotland and was visited several times by Mary Queen of Scots, an ardent dancer.
