This dance is still being tweaked; it was written in response to a story about a close encounter of the slothful kind, and because the story is so good and we just can't keep straight face, we are dancing with slothful toes.
The Half Sloth Reel of 4 appropriately takes a full 8 bars.

- 1–8
- Head cpls set and link 3/4 to a line of four; set and turn BH x1.
- .
- Head couples dance a Half Sloth Reel.
- 9–12
- End dancers set advancing one place, set again advancing to pass one another - middles dance two petronella turns and become ends.
- 13–16
- Repeat from new positions - dancers will be half way through a normal reel of 4.

- 17–20
- Heads turn RH into allemande hold facing anti clockwise, dance half round (back to original end)
- 21–24
- Dance LH Across 3/4 round with twirl to face the side couples.
- 25–26
- Heads and sides change places passing Rshoulders,
- 27–32
- Center couples chase anti-clockwise 3/4 round into head positions, and all four couples set
