Minor comment: the URL http://www.strathspey.org/mailget?thread=23362 quoted in the note to Eric Fergusons crib no longer works.
I found the message via http://www.strathspey.org/list/strathspey/archive/msg/23362/
If the note is updated maybe this could be a link rather than a text URL?

Correction made to this URL in the crib text. Issue fixed. Eric
Anselm: there could be other places in SCDDB where these old links to the archive are still present. Could you perhaps correct them all in one single operation? Would save us all a lot of effort. Greetings. Eric
Anselm, is there a way to make this a clickable link, as Murrough suggests? Perhaps this should go to “extra Info”?

The official way to link to Strathspey postings in the database is to use a »magic link« of the form »sspey:MESSAGE«, where MESSAGE is the message number (or »sspey-thread:THREAD« to link to a complete thread). This means that if the archive URLs change I only need to fix the magic-link code in order to get all links to follow suit.
Having said that, I could have a trawl through the database to see whether these obsolete links show up in other places.
There is a potential issue with trying to push too much information into cribs. One major use case for cribs is making crib sheets for dance programmes, where loads of supplementary information tend to produce clutter that nobody really wants (as opposed to crib sheets for lesson plans or the collected-cribs EPUB document, where the supplementary information can come in handy). Maybe there should be a method of marking up the supplementary stuff so that in the web interface it can be switched on or off as required.

I agree fully that cribs should be free of clutter, and only include what is needed to dance correctly.
All other information should go into “Extra Info” or elsewhere.
Practical issue: the tab “Extra Info” is often empty, so a user tends not to open it and miss that information.
Suggestion: if that field is empty, omit the tab or grey it out. (example: video tab)

“clutter” removed from crib. Other issues are on Anselm’s joblist. Fixed. Eric
