John Drewry wrote in the original description: A dance for John Sinton, who plays the bass in Jim Macleod’s band at Dunblane Hydro. A large dance for a large instrument!

Furthermore, he writes:

There are three basic positions in the dance, because 6th couple dance similar figures to 1st couple (but from the opposite end of the set), 5th couple dance similar figures to 2nd couple, and 4th couple to 3rd couple.

and

Two repeats are probably sufficient, then each couple will have danced from 1st or 6th position, from 2nd or 5th position and from 3rd or 4th position.
