Iain Boyd notes in issue 1918:

The dancers should not hesitate at the end of the right hands across but flow smoothly into the cast to the left.

The instructions to remain in the middle with hands joined were included to ensure that the cast started from the middle and not from the sidelines.

The half poussette should start from the middle rather than from a diagonal line. The diagram in the original publication clearly shows where dancers should finish the promenade movement.

The dance was published before the Society decided that the half poussette should start from a diagonal line.

It would be appreciated if dancers respected the devisor’s original instructions.
