Some information from the band’s webpage and other sources:

The Invercauld Scottish Dance Band consists of Lilian Linden (piano) and friends (fiddles, accordion, drums).

In October 1997, Lilian Linden formed a Scottish dance band (now called the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band). The band has played for Scottish Country Dances and Balls, New Year’s Eve Dances, St Andrew’s Nights, Burns’ Nights, Weddings, Ceilidhs, Concerts, Charity Dances, and other fund-raising events, as well as Reeling Dances for Reelers, Parties and other functions with a Scottish flavour.

At some point it came to choosing a name for the band. The name “The Invercauld Scottish Dance Band” relates to Lilian’s Scottish ancestors, the Farquharsons of Invercauld, which have been traced back to the sixteenth century, to the start of the Farquharson Clan.

The line-up Peter Macfarlane / Lilian Linden can be seen in the continuity from beginnings in 1997 to the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band, as the CD recorded by the two musicians already carries the catalog number “Invercauld001”. The collaboration with Peter Macfarlane ended when he emigrated to the US in 2003.

The band has previously played extensively in and around London, Surrey, Hampshire and the Home Counties, and occasionally in Oxford, Cambridge, Kent, Sussex and Wiltshire. They have also played further afield in the UK and Europe, including Scotland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Norway, Guernsey and Jersey.

Since summer 2009 Lilian and the Invercauld Scottish Dance Band are based and play in Jersey in the Channel Islands, since Lilian’s move back there. However, the band will also continue to play in the UK and further afield.
