Tune Mary Hamilton of Auchincruive 1086
Also known as “Mary Hamilton”, “Mary Hamilton of Auchencruive”.
- Composed by
- James Stanley 'Jimmy' Hamilton
- Notes
Laird Brown has an original hand-written sheet with the same tune which only has "Mary Hamilton" as the title.
According to the Box and Fiddle archive and Iain Boyd's book All Kinds Of Everything, Jimmy Hamilton has composed this tune. It is named after his wife.
Because the full names of Jimmy Hamilton and his son Stan Hamilton are both James Stanley Hamilton some tune assignments might be hard to trace back.
